Avery and the magic wand

This happened a week or so ago.  It is one of those moments where I thought, "I really should write this down."  So here it is...

I'm in the kitchen, fixing dinner.  Out of the corner of my eye, I see my daughter, Avery, all dressed up in her princess attire, waiving her "magic wand".  Here's the conversation we had:

Avery:  "Poof...Poof"  (waiving her wand)
(I pretend not to see her...waiting to see what she is trying to do)
Avery:  "Poof...Poof"  (waiving her wand)
(She huffs and puffs with frustration and puts her hand on her hip)
"Does this thing work or what?"  (referring to the wand)
Me:  "Well...you have to use your imagination"
She runs back into her room and comes back into the kitchen a few minutes later.  She stops, looks at me, throws that hand on her hip.  "Mom, I've been using my "magination" and it's still not working!"  With that, she throws the wand on the floor and heads back to her room.
